Minggu Katekatikal 2011 Berakar dan dibangun di atas Yesus Kristus dan teguh dalam iman (Kol 2:7) Tema Minggu Katekatikal kita pada tahun ini akan memberi fokus kepada mesej Bapa Suci Benediktus XVI pada Hari Belia Sedunia yang akan dianjurkan di ibu negeri Sepanyol iaitu Madrid pada bulan Ogos 2011. Tema yang dipetik dari Kolose 2:7 adalah “Berakar dan dibangun di atas Yesus Kristus dan teguh dalam iman”. Media massa menghubungkan segenap penjuru dunia. Ini memberikan kita peluang untuk melihat apa yang berlaku di serata dunia. Jika kita lihat pada globalisasi dunia kita pada masa kini, kita berdepan dengan masalah manusia sejagat, perkauman dan iman. Manusia mempunyai kecenderungan untuk mengetepikan Allah dari kehidupan dengan berkerja tanpa campurtangan Allah. Dalam usaha untuk menghidupi kepentingan masa kini, iaitu untuk selalu menjadi nombor satu adalah suatu kemestian dan ukuran kejayaan, semua benda lain menjadi tidak berguna dan kehilangan erti. “Planted and built up in Jesus Christ, firm in the faith” (Col 2:7 ) The theme of our Catechetical Sunday this year will focus on the message of Pope Benedict XVI on the occasion of The World Youth day which will be held in the Spanish capital, Madrid, on the month of August 2011. The theme “Planted and built up in Jesus Christ, firm in faith” is taken from Colossian 2:7. SERAMAI 939…. DITERIMA DALAM UPACARA PEMILIHAN 2011 KEUSKUPAN AGUNG KOTA KINABALU KOTA KINABALU : Pada 13 Mac 2011 yang lalu, bersamaan dengan Minggu Pertama Musim Puasa, seramai 939 katekumen telah diterima di seluruh diosis agung Kota Kinabalu tidak termasuk kanak-kanak. Seramai 650 katekumen telah diterima di Katedral Hati Kudus dan seramai 289 lagi para katekumen telah diterima di paroki masing-masing yang tidak dapat hadir ke upacara di Katedral Hati Kudus kerana keadaan paroki yang agak jauh. Untuk pertama kalinya dalam sejarah diosis agung Kota Kinabalu, Upacara Pemilihan (IKD) serentak telah diadakan di Katedral Hati Kudus, Kota Kinabalu. Upacara yang julungkalinya diadakan sediosis telah disempurnakan oleh Yang Mulia Uskup Agung John Lee, dibantu oleh Coadjutor Uskup Agung John Wong. MESYUARAT KOMISI KATEKETIKAL DAN PARA KOORDINATOR KOMITI KATEKETIKAL PAROKI KEUSKUPAN AGUNG K.K. 2011 Penampang: Komisi Kateketikal Keuskupan Agung Kota Kinabalu telah mengadakan mesyuarat bersama dengan Para Koordinator Komiti Kateketikal paroki pada 15hb Februari 2011, bertempat di Pusat Pastoral Keuskupan Agung, Jalan Hiburan Penampang. Banyak perkara yang telah dibincangkan terutama dalam hal-hal pembentukan iman pelajar Minggu Gembira. Antara lain agenda yang telah dibincangkan adalah persiapan Upacara Pemilihan bagi calon-calon baptis yang akan diadakan di Katedral Hati Kudus pada 13 Mac 2011. Daripada laporan para perwakilan paroki, lebih seribu orang akan mengambil bahagian dalam upacara ini termasuk para penanggung dan pembimbing. Kelihatan para katekumen, para penanggung, ibubapa dan pembimbing dalam persiapan Upacara Pemilihan yang  telah diadakan pada 27 Februari 2011, bertempat di Dewan Gereja St. Michael Penampang. Upacara Pemilihan akan diadakan di Sacred heart Cathedral pada 13 mac 2011 jam 2.00 ptg.

The celebration of the Rite of Election, which usually coincides with the opening of Lent, also marks the beginning of the period of final, more intense preparation for the Sacraments of Initiation, during which the Elect will be encouraged to follow Christ with greater generosity. MESYUARAT PERSIAPAN UPACARA PEMILIHAN (IKD)                    Pada 16 January 2011, Komisi Kateketikal Diosis Agung dengan para Koordinator/Pengerusi Komiti Kateketikal paroki bersama para pembimbing IKD mereka telah mangadakan mesyuarat di Sacred Heart Cathedral.  Agenda utama adalah persiapan Upacara Pemilihan / Rite of Elect  yang akan diadakan  sediosis pada 13 March 2011.  Turut hadir ialah Fr. Johny Raju, Fr. Nicholas Stephen serta Deacon Florian Marcus.  Selepas mesyuarat, raptai juga telah diadakan di Gereja Sacred Heart.  Dijangka lebih seribu para katekumen termasuk para penanggung dan pembimbing akan hadir pada upacara tersebut.  Upacara seperti in pertama kali diadakan dalam sejarah Komisi Kateketikal. Ia juga mendapat sambutan yang baik.

Memulakan tahun baru dengan semangat baru melayani... Pada 8 Januari 2011, pembentukan iman para pembimbing Pertemuan Minggu Gembira  dan Inisiasi Kristian Dewasa selama sehari telah diadakan di Dewan Paroki St. Michael Penampang.  Lebih seratus para pembimbing telah menghadiri pembentukan ini termasuk para pembimbing dari paroki baru, Holy Nativity Terawi.  Tiga sesi telah disampaikan iaitu Peranan dan tanggungjawab Pembimbing dan ahli Komiti yang baru dipilih, penggunaan Siri Kateketik Malaysia dan Proses Inisiasi Kristian Dewasa.  sebahagian para pembimbing sedang asyik mendengar perkongsian 

MCC met in Bundu Tuhan 2011 Bundu Tuhan: Malaysian Catechetical Commission Meeting was held its yearly meeting on 17th – 19th January 2011 at Bundu Tuhan Retreat Centre headed by Bishop Datuk Cornelius Piong as the MCC President and chaired by Rev. Fr. Boniface Kimsin. All the representatives from all diocese of Malaysia were present except representative from Miri diocese. The National representative from National Catechetical Office (NCO) and the Vicariate of Brunei were also present for this meeting. The most important focus being discussed in this meeting was to review all the topics in the faith formation used in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adult book which have been used for more than 20 years. It was decided that in learning the Catholic faith, it should be according to the sign of times and according to the Malaysian context based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It was agreed that the new title for the RCIA book is “ Our Faith Journey in Jesus”. "....
